Our hearts go out to people on the other side of the continental divide, who have been evacuated and those who have lost their homes. Thank you to all the firefighting crews out in the field!
Rocky Mountain National Park has had a small lightening ignited fire in the Big Meadows valley area 5 miles north of Grand Lake. Although gusting winds helped it spread to just over 300 acres, the fire is under the management of the Rocky Mountain Area Incident Management Team. Some trails have been temporarily closed but there are plenty of others to enjoy. Grand Lake, Trail Ridge Road and Estes Park are open for business as usual. Some smoke from the front range has been evident in the mornings but has not been evident most afternoons.
So keep your plans or make new plans to visit Grand Lake and enjoy our stunning little piece of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
