Thinking about winter fun?

Grand Lake, located at the West Entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, receives excellent snow every winter. Perfect for winter sports in Colorado.

You can snowshoe or cross country ski along the North Inlet Trail or Tonahutu Trail from our property and the Grand Lake Touring Center is just up the road. Grand Lake is known as the “snowmobiling capital” of the USA and you can rent sleds in town and then ride right from your room to enjoy over 70 miles of groomed trails in the Arapahoe National Forest. If you are looking for powder, there are plenty of great meadows!. Try your hand at ice-fishing or ice-skating (skates available on loan from Blue Water Bakery), and don’t forget hot air ballooning, sleigh rides and even dog sled rides.

Our Rapids Condos and River View Condos are cozy and offer wood burning or gas fireplaces. The “Treehouse Suite” in the historic lodge building also has a gas fireplace for ambiance and comfort. The pet-friendly Rapids Suites are available in the winter so the whole family can play in the snow.

The Rapids Restaurant offers two fireplaces and a view of the icy Tonahutu River. It is truly magical to watch snowflakes fall, catching the light, just outside the warm dining room.

So don’t wait. Our great “Extend your Stay” special is valid through Christmas Day and you might consider celebrating the New Year with us. There are fireworks over the frozen lake at midnight! Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day both offer a great escape for a long weekend getaway. Make sure you don’t miss out on Grand Lake’s winter carnival.

We hope to have you come stay with us. Call us or book online.
